How to measure:
- Chest – measure around the fullest part of the chest.
- Waist – measure around the narrowest part of the waist.
- Hips – measure around the widest part of the hips.
- Height – measure without shoes.
Widmann kids costume sizes equal the child's height in centimetres. Measure the child's height and choose the nearest larger size.
If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.

A Nativity scene is never complete without shepherds, and in a school or parish performance there are often several of them. This costume consists of a light tunic with a long brown waistcoat, a belt and a headpiece. Boys and girls both wear it, as everyone plays the shepherds in performances.
The size matches the child’s height in centimetres: 116, 128, 140 and 158. Measure without shoes and choose the nearest larger size. The cut is loose, so everyday clothes will fit under the tunic: during rehearsals the child changes quickly, and in a cold church they will not freeze.
The staff shown in the photo is not part of the set list. You can make one from a straight branch or an old broom handle; just sand the ends so nobody gets hurt on stage. More ideas for performances can be found in the Christmas costumes section.
